The following links are provided to assist veterans and their families with information. Other than disability and benefit claims assistance from the Veterans of Foriegn Wars (VFW), our post does not endorse any other organizations providing or claiming to provide veteran support. However, these following links are provided for informational purposes only and it should be pointed out that many companies and law firms charge exorbitant fees for their services - while services for veterans are provided by a number of non-profit veterans organizations, federal, state, and local agencies at no charge:
POST 8292 ENDORSES and RECOMMENDS VFW Help With VA Claims & Separation Benefits (FREE):
The claims process can be confusing and one that service members and veterans shouldn't try to navigate alone. That's why the VFW's National Veterans Service (NVS) was established to help all veterans, service members, their families and survivors.
NVS consists of a nationwide network of VFW Accredited Service Officers and Pre-Discharge Representatives who are experts in dealing with the VA and are the key to your success. Our cadre of highly-trained and professional advocates help veterans cut through bureaucratic red tape. VA reports veterans represented by the VFW have recouped more than $11.2 billion in compensation in pension on behalf of veterans and eligible family members in fiscal year 2022.
Disabled American Veterans (DAV) (FREE): DAV benefits experts are available across the country to help veterans navigate their VA benefits and provide counseling for veterans on claims and appeals—all at no cost to the veteran.
